Cemetary
The cemetery of the Jewish Congregation Oude Pekela dates from 1693, and is located between the Haanswijk and the Draijerswijk The necessary property was purchased by Daniel Jacobs. Jewish people from other parts of the Province of Groningen were buried here as well.
The cemetery was expanded around 1723, 1760 and around 1830. Now there are yet 158 tomb-stones of which the oldest dates from 1808.
