Cemetary
In 1849 the Jewish people in Stadskanaal obtained a piece of property at the Gedempte Ceresdiep from the City of Groningen. At that time it was a remote place. The oldest (buried) stone dates from 1878, and the oldest visible stone from 1881. The Jewish people of nearby Nieuw-Buinen and Valthermond were buried at this cemetery as well.
