Mid 19th century Warffum and nearby Usquert had sufficient Jewish people to hold sermons. The brothers Van Dam rented a space from wood buyer De Cock Rouaan at the Pastorieweg 30 in Warffum for that purpose.
Until approximately 1910 sermons were held in a room of this building. The Warffumer Jews then rented a room in the back of an house at the Oosterstraat 38. Until approximately 1920 the sermons were held here. In the period from 1920 to 1929 there was a home synagogue in a room at the Torenweg 8.
Also because of the decrease in the number of Jewish people it wasn't very well possible to hold sermons in Warffum as of 1930. The Warffumer Jews probably attended as of that time the synagogue of the Jewish Congregation Winsum again. Because in the meantime a rail road had been established between both towns was the distance hardly an obstacle anymore.
