Synagogues
Already in 1733 is a synagogue mentioned in the village Zuidbroek. It was located in a room of Meijer Sijmons' home. His house was at that time described as the third house from the 'pijp' (bridge) towards the church at the west side of the street.
It is unknown how long this synagogue has served. Even before the official foundation of the Jewish Congregation Zuidbroek in 1884 the construction of a synagogue was contracted out. It was located at the Uiterburen in Zuidbroek. The building was broken down in 1934.
